The LIL Tournament

The popular LIL Tournament is hosted by the Mabel League and normally held in early June of each year. All women's teams are welcome to enter regardless of skill level. There are usually two or more levels of competition and good sportmanship and fun are mandatory. Past tournaments have included teams from Victoria and the islands as well as Washington state.

LIL TOURNAMENT Jun 5-7, 2009 Trout Lake, Vancouver, BC

The Mabel League LIL Tournament 2009 saw a Most Valuable Player trophy awarded to a player in each division, courtesy of Lyn Hart, Macdonald Realty. Lyn has been involved as a player, coach and umpire in the league for many years and provides part sponsorship to some events like the LIL and Finals Tournaments.

Teams voted their pick after each game for their opponents who displayed playing skill, great attitude and good sportsmanship. The votes were counted near the end of the tournament to determine a most valuable player in each division. Recipients of the 2009 LIL MVP Award should be honoured to have been chosen by your peers and Lyn hopes to make it an annual tradition.

The winners of the 2009 Mabel League LIL Tournament MVP Award are:

C Division – Lisa Beale, BB9

B Division – Susan Yeager, Ruckus

A Division – Jen Robinson, Storm

Congratulations to all!
