Annual General Meeting (AGM)
About this Event
The Mabel League is registered as a not-for-profit society and thus governed by the BC Societies Act. As such the league is required to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of its members in order to elect the Executive for the coming season and to review and vote on any proposals from the members.
2026 AGM
Date: November 2, 2026
Time: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Location: The Warehouse – address will be emailed out closer to date
Due Dates:
- Intentions to Stand for those running for Exec must be submitted by September 25, 2026
- Proposals must be submitted by September 25, 2026
Each team member who attends the AGM receives one Participation Point for your team.
Notes
Running for Executive
Members may submit their “Intention to Stand” to be eligible for an Executive position. An “Intention to Stand” must:
- Be delivered in writing to the existing Executive by September 25, 2026; and
- Include the member’s name, position(s) they intend to stand for, and statement of interest in said position(s).
Information on all members running for an executive role will be provided to the membership with AGM notice that goes out at least 30 days prior to the AGM.
You will need to be nominated to a position (you can nominate yourself) and you will need to accept the nomination. If you are unable to attend the meeting you may still be nominated for and elected to a position, but you will need to send written notice of your interest in the position which will serve as you accepting the nomination.
Submitting proposals for the AGM
Any member in good standing can submit a proposal to be voted on at the AGM. Download a Proposal Form here, fill it out, and submit it to the Chair before September 25, 2026. You will be required to present the proposal at the AGM and field any questions that arise.
Proxy Voting
Our bylaws allow you to proxy your vote to another member of the Mabel League. Your proxy must be made in writing, and it must be presented by the time the AGM begins. For clarity in our record keeping, please use this form and ensure it is sent to executive@mabelleague.com.
